AlphaGov delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.
We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, AlphaGov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.
What you'll do:
Design and lead process, outcome, and impact evaluations for state and local human-services, behavioral-health, justice, and family-support programs
Build logic models, theories of change, performance measures, and evaluation plans agencies can defend to funders and oversight bodies
Analyze administrative, case-management, and survey data; report outcomes boards and program leaders can use
Conduct key-informant interviews, site visits, and structured document review as the design requires
Translate findings into actionable recommendations and clear limitations language
Support AlphaGov proposals with evaluation methods, roles, and past-performance narrative when naming is authorized
Coordinate with workforce-evaluation and survey SMEs when scopes cross program types
Keep engagement project-based and contingent on award / staffing need — not speculative bench staffing
Requirements
Required
Seven or more years program evaluation, applied social science, public policy, or outcomes research for government or public consulting
Direct evaluation experience on state/local human services, behavioral health, justice, fatherhood/family, or related public programs
Ability to produce logic models, evaluation frameworks, and performance measures
Strong mixed-methods design, writing, and presentation skills for non-technical audiences
Comfortable as a project-based collaborator; remote US with occasional travel
Nice to have
Behavioral health, criminal justice, child welfare, or fatherhood/family program evaluation and past performance
Familiarity with state audit/oversight reporting or federally funded social-program evaluation standards
Survey and qualitative protocol design that pairs with administrative-data analysis
Prior named key-personnel role on public-sector evaluation proposals
