Project: Professional Book Formatting for Self-Publishing

I have written a book about my life, currently in Microsoft Word, and need an experienced book formatter to prepare it for professional printing and self-publishing.

I want the finished book to look like a professionally published autobiography or memoir, with a clean, attractive layout that is easy and enjoyable to read.

Requirements:

Book size:
Recommend a suitable standard paperback size, preferably 6 × 9 inches (152 × 229 mm).

Layout:
Professional margins, correct binding gutter, consistent spacing and page layout.

Fonts:
Clear, readable fonts and professional typography.

Chapters:
Consistent chapter headings, with each chapter starting on a new page.

Page numbering:
Professional page numbers and running headers where appropriate.

Opening pages:
Format the title page, copyright page, contents page and dedication, if applicable.

Photographs:
Position and size any photographs appropriately for print.

Content:
Preserve my original wording and chapter order. This is a formatting project, not a rewriting or editing project.

Print-ready files:
Supply both an editable Word document and a high-quality, print-ready PDF suitable for my chosen printer.

Proofing:
Provide a draft PDF for review and allow one round of formatting revisions before final delivery.
