I have an existing mechanical part that needs to be reverse-engineered into a precise 3D CAD model so I can generate full manufacturing documentation. You’ll receive a set of high-resolution photos of the part (and can have the physical sample shipped if helpful) and your task is to recreate it accurately, call out all critical dimensions, and prepare the manufacturing files I can hand straight to my machine shop.
The finished model has to be suitable for detailed technical drawings—section views, GD&T callouts, exploded views for assembly notes, and a clean bill of materials where applicable. STEP or Parasolid for the solid model and native SolidWorks or Fusion files would be ideal; drawings in PDF plus DWG/DXF for the shop are also required.
Deliverables
• Parametric 3D model of the part/assembly
• Fully annotated 2D drawings ready for CNC or sheet-metal programming
• Exported neutral files (STEP/IGES) and editable source CAD
• Short hand-off note highlighting assumed tolerances, finishes, and any open questions
I’ll turn around feedback quickly, so an iterative approach is welcome. If you’re confident with reverse engineering from photos, attention to tight tolerances, and clear, well-structured drawings, I’m ready to get started right away.
