## What you'll make
Two vertical short-form clips (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts) for an AI-and-startups podcast. We want them to look like a top creator's in-house team cut them.
After hire you get two segments, each 3 to 4 minutes long: horizontal 1080p video of a two-person conversation. You cut **one clip from each segment**.
## The constraints
- 9:16 vertical, 1080x1920 MP4, **30 to 60 seconds**, cut only from inside the segment you were given.
- **Hook in the first two seconds.** Open on the strongest line, never mid-thought. End cleanly on a complete thought.
- **Burned-in captions** that are:
- large and readable on a phone
- a few words on screen at a time
- synced word by word as spoken
- set in a clean modern font
- never covering faces
- **One speaker framed well at a time.** No split screens, no bouncing or shaking camera moves, and nothing covering the speakers.
- **Restraint.**
- No flashy transitions, flashes or sound effects on every cut.
- No stock B-roll unless it truly helps.
- No music unless it sits quietly under speech.
- No watermarks, no "preview" or "demo" tags, no editing-app logos.
## What you send back with each clip
- The final MP4.
- The editable project file. If your app has no project file, tell us which app you used.
- A three-line note on how you made it.
## Where you have freedom
You choose the moment inside each segment. We are hiring your taste: find the stretch with the best hook and the cleanest ending. Caption design, pacing, punch-ins and reframing are yours, within the restraint rules above.
## How you'll be judged
- Would a stranger keep watching past two seconds?
- Does the clip stand on its own and end on a complete thought?
- Are the captions accurate, perfectly synced and easy to read?
- Does it look clean, premium and calm, rather than busy?
Clips that break the format or restraint rules are not accepted.
