My research will focus on predictive maintenance for natural gas pipeline compressor stations. I will use Columbia Pipeline Group as my main case study because there is published information about how they used real-time monitoring and data to improve compressor reliability and reduce maintenance costs. I will also use a peer-reviewed study about a natural gas compressor to support my research. I will compare traditional maintenance methods with predictive maintenance and look at the available data on reliability, maintenance costs, equipment failures, and downtime. From this information, I will determine whether predictive maintenance can improve the way compressor stations are maintained.
Ideal skills and experience for this project include:
- Expertise in predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Familiarity with natural gas pipeline systems and compressor operations.
- Data analysis and modeling capabilities for operational data.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
Please share your approach to helping with this research and relevant experience. I've included an outline.
