I have a single Excel/CSV master file that captures every employee movement in the organisation, and I need a dynamic Power BI dashboard built around it. The goal is simple: the moment I replace or append the source file, every visual should refresh without any extra work from me.
What the report must show:
• Total headcount
• Employee attrition rate
• New-hire and exit counts
I want users to slice these numbers region-wise, department-wise, and role-wise through interactive filters. Clear trend lines, month-over-month comparisons, and a clean summary card layout are preferred so executives can grasp churn patterns at a glance.
Deliverables
1. A PBIX file containing a tidy data model, DAX measures for the metrics above, and well-labelled visuals.
2. Automated refresh setup that reads the updated Excel/CSV from a fixed folder path (no gateway changes required on my end).
3. Brief hand-off notes explaining how to swap the raw file if the structure ever changes.
Acceptance criteria: I drop in a new HR file, press “Refresh,” and the dashboard instantly reflects the new headcount, hires, and exits broken down by region, department, and role—no errors or manual fixes.
If you are comfortable modelling flat files and crafting clean, business-ready visuals in Power BI, this should be a straightforward engagement.
