Develop PostgreSQL Backend & REST APIs for Solar Digital Twin Platform

Project Description

We are developing TwinPro, a web-based digital twin and asset-management platform for solar power plants.

The React frontend is substantially developed and currently uses JSON/dummy data. We now require a backend developer to create the core database, asset hierarchy and REST APIs that will connect the frontend to a production-ready backend.

The application hierarchy is:

Enterprise → Portfolio → Plant → Block → Inverter/Transformer/SCB/WMS/Meter → Individual Assets

The developer should create a scalable PostgreSQL backend supporting multiple enterprises, portfolios and solar plants.

Scope of Work
Design PostgreSQL database schema.
Develop backend using Node.js/Express or Python/FastAPI.
Create CRUD APIs.
Implement hierarchical asset relationships.
Create sample/demo records.
Create APIs required by the existing React frontend.
Add input validation and standard error responses.
Prepare Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
Dockerise the backend.
Provide source code and installation documentation.

Milestone 5: Final source code and handover

Important Requirement

The frontend must not directly access database tables. All application data must pass through documented APIs.

The code should be modular and suitable for subsequent integration with AWS Aurora/RDS, Cognito, React and IoT/SCADA services.
