I need a steel column engineered for a commercial-grade outdoor events setup. The piece must stand independently, break down quickly for transport, and reconnect on-site with minimal tooling. Wind loads, repeated assembly cycles, and safe crowd interaction are the core considerations, so the design has to balance strength with portability.

I will supply overall height, base footprint, and maximum live-load data the moment we start; everything else—from member sizing to connection details—comes from your structural know-how. A clean 3 D model is essential because the column will interface with prefabricated truss sections already in STEP format. If you prefer SolidWorks, Inventor, Tekla, or a similar platform, that’s fine as long as the native file exports cleanly to .STEP without feature loss.

Here’s how I plan to sign off the work:
• 2-D fabrication sketches (PDF + DWG) showing every plate, bolt, and weld symbol
• A single, watertight .STEP assembly ready for CNC/laser quotation
• A brief calculation note or FEA screenshot confirming the column’s capacity against the stated loads and safety factor

Once those three items pass a quick clash-check with my existing truss model, the project is complete and final payment releases immediately. If you can simplify hardware or suggest a smarter splice, I welcome it—every kilogram saved reduces freight costs. I’m ready to begin as soon as you confirm the timeline and tool set you’ll use.
