I’m expanding my marketing agency’s content division and need reliable video editors who can turn long-form podcast or interview footage into punchy vertical shorts ready for YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. The goal is to pull the most engaging moments, keep the speaker centred, add crisp subtitles, and export in true mobile-first 9:16.
Here’s what I’ll hand over: the raw video (often multi-cam), any separate audio tracks, and simple time-stamps or notes on high-interest sections. Your job is to trim, tighten, and polish each highlight so it hooks viewers within the first few seconds, flows smoothly, and ends with a clean CTA screen if supplied. Think speaker-focused cuts, quick jump-zooms when emotion peaks, tasteful waveform or emoji pops when appropriate—nothing overly flashy that distracts from the conversation itself.
Typical specs I expect
• 20–60 sec runtime per clip
• 1080 × 1920 resolution, correct colour balance, loudness-normalised audio
• Burned-in, brand-coloured captions (95 %+ accuracy)
• Delivery in .mp4 plus the project file (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut acceptable)
Turnaround is usually 24–48 hrs per batch once you have the source files. Volume will start modest—about 10–15 clips a week—and scale quickly as new shows come on board.
When you respond, please link to past work that shows you’ve already produced podcast or interview highlights in vertical format. If you’ve boosted watch time or engagement for a client, mention that result as well.
I’ll review reels on a rolling basis and invite shortlisted editors to cut a paid test clip so we can align on pacing, captions, and overall vibe.
