PMO Improvement: Processes & Reporting

Our PMO is already in place, yet it lacks the structure and clarity a growing portfolio now demands. My immediate objective is to strengthen it rather than rebuild it, concentrating on three intertwined areas: sharper project reporting and dashboards, consistent processes and templates, and clearer roles, skills, and governance across the team.

The first piece of work I need is very tangible: practical, plug-and-play processes, templates, and reporting tools that can be adopted without a lengthy change-management programme. Think concise process maps, role definitions tied to a RACI, and visually engaging dashboards (Power BI or an equally accessible platform) that surface cost, schedule, risk, and benefits data at a glance. Everything should be easy for a mixed-experience team to pick up, ideally built around familiar Microsoft tools—Project, Excel, SharePoint—so we can embed quickly.

Deliverables I will measure you against:
• End-to-end project-lifecycle process map (initiation to close) with accompanying RACI
• Template pack: charter, plan, RAID log, status report, benefits tracker, lessons-learned log
• Interactive portfolio dashboard, driven by sample data, with a guide to hook into our data sources
• Brief adoption guide explaining how to roll out the new assets over the next quarter

Everything must be tailored to our environment, not lifted straight from a textbook, and supplied in editable formats. Once these assets are live and prove their value, we can discuss a follow-on engagement for training and wider rollout, but for now I want to see well-thought-through, ready-to-use materials that instantly raise the PMO’s game.
