I need a sturdy, custom-shaped mount for my Zebra DS9308 barcode scanner that will sit a few inches off the wall yet fasten securely to a standard peg board. Plastic is the required material because I plan to 3D-print or injection-mold the part later, so please keep wall thicknesses and draft angles print-friendly.
The mount has to attach with screws through the peg board holes (no hooks or adhesives), hold the scanner firmly at the correct scanning angle, and leave room behind it so the cable can route cleanly downward without kinking. Standard 1/8-in peg-board hole spacing applies.
Deliverables
• 3D model files (STL and source CAD such as SolidWorks or Fusion 360)
• A brief drawing or PDF with overall dimensions, screw locations, and the offset distance you used
• Assembly notes showing which size screws and washers you recommend for peg-board backing
Acceptance criteria
• DS9308 fits snugly without wobble and can be removed easily for service
• Screw locations line up with the peg-board hole grid
• Printed prototype (my test print) supports the scanner’s weight without flexing
If you have experience designing small plastic fixtures for 3D printing and understand peg-board constraints, this should be a quick, straightforward job. Let me know what additional measurements you need from me and roughly how long you expect the design phase to take.
There are STL files out there that do not provide the correct fit or distance or angle, this will need to be able to be printed in PETG, ABS or PLA. We will want the DS 9308 to face down after mounting. I should be at least 8 inches from the peg board.
