The task is to build a small but solid lead-management website from the ground up using PHP and MySQL. At its heart, the application has to do three things well:
• Lead capturing form – a clean, responsive form that writes prospects straight into the database.
• Automated follow-up emails – configurable sequences that fire without manual intervention.
• Lead scoring & prioritisation – simple rules that rank and colour-code every contact so I can act fast on the hottest leads.
Database design, back-end logic, and a lightweight front-end admin panel all need to be wired together so the entire flow—from first visit through to ongoing nurture—runs inside one cohesive codebase. Plain PHP is fine, but if a framework such as Laravel or CodeIgniter speeds you up, go for it; just keep the code readable, commented, and easy for another developer to extend.
Deliverables I expect:
1. SQL schema (tables, indexes, relationships) ready to import.
2. Source code in PHP 8+ that installs with a single config file for DB credentials.
3. A concise README covering setup, cron/email scheduling, and the lead-scoring rules.
4. Demo data and a short screen-recording showing the three core features working end-to-end.
Clean structure, secure handling of user input, and straightforward installation will be my acceptance criteria.
