Does life make us human? Our living bodies give us life, but human life consists of much more than just breathing, growing, and surviving. Humans are capable of thinking about the past, planning for the future, building relationships with each other, and finding the meaning of life. All of these things are learned throughout life. A child learns how to be kind by being cared for and taught by someone who loves them. An adult might display bravery by risking their life to save another person or by doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Humans are shaped by their values and morals, which influence them to make certain choices.

Life teaches us about loss, fear, happiness, hard work, love, and change, among other things. We learn to think about others and how to act accordingly in different social settings. Our biological and physical makeup makes us human, however, memory, emotions, thought processes, and moral decisions are what make up human life. So, in conclusion, the question of whether life makes us human is unclear because humans can take many different forms. The answer is most likely yes, because we experience life and turn those experiences into something meaningful through compassion, learning, building, and choosing how we want to live our lives.
