New Android App Development – Personal Wealth Management App

I am looking for an experienced Android developer to build a personal wealth management application completely from scratch.

The app will be called “Mohan’s Wealth Manager” and will be designed as a modern personal finance and wealth tracking application, with functionality similar to apps such as Money Manager, but with additional features for investments, wealth accumulation, fixed income, financial goals, and asset tracking.

Project Objective

The objective is to create a professional, reliable and easy-to-use Android application that allows me to manage my complete financial life from one place.

The application should track:

- Bank accounts
- Cash
- Income
- Expenses
- Transactions
- Investments
- Mutual Funds
- ETFs
- Gold
- Silver
- USD holdings
- Chit Funds
- Loans/advances given
- Fixed income
- Financial goals
- Wealth growth and progress

The application should be built as a new project from scratch, with a clean architecture that allows additional features to be added in the future.

1. Home Dashboard

The Home screen should provide a clean summary of my financial position.

It should include:

Balances

- Running Balance
- Total Balance
- Master Balance
- Projected Balance
- Target Amount
- Progress toward Target

Investments

- Mutual Funds
- ETFs
- Gold
- Silver
- USD
- Chit Funds

Cash Flow

- Income
- Expenses
- Investments
- Net Cash Flow

The Home screen should be simple and uncluttered.

Live market prices should NOT be prominently displayed on the Home screen.

Fixed income details should NOT be displayed on the Home screen.

2. Separate App Sections

The application should have separate sections/panels for:

1. Dashboard
2. Transactions
3. Expenses
4. Income
5. Investments
6. Fixed Income
7. Settings

Navigation should be simple and intuitive.

3. Transactions

The user should be able to record:

- Income
- Expense
- Investment
- Self Transfer

There should be a Self Transfer feature for transferring money between personal accounts.

Example:

Axis → Kotak

This should not be counted as income or expense.

Accounts should be configurable, with examples such as:

- Axis – Savings
- Kotak – Business
- SBI – Spending A/C
- Cash
- Trading Capital

The user should be able to add, edit and remove accounts.

4. Income Management

Income categories should include:

- Tutorship
- Rent
- Trading
- Business
- Transactions & Miscellaneous

Rent Management

The user should be able to add multiple tenants.

Each tenant should have:

- Tenant Name
- Rent Amount
- Payment Date

There should be a + button to add additional tenants and an option to remove them.

Tutorship Management

The user should be able to add multiple students.

Each student should have:

- Student Name
- Amount
- Payment Date

There should also be a + button to add or remove students.

5. Fixed Income

The application should have a dedicated Fixed Income section.

I receive certain fixed income amounts on predetermined dates.

Each entry should contain:

- Name/source
- Amount
- Date
- Frequency
- Notes, if required

The application should automatically show upcoming fixed-income payments based on their dates.

6. Investment Management

The Investment section should allow the user to track different investment instruments.

Supported categories should include:

- Mutual Funds
- ETFs
- Gold
- Silver
- USD
- Chit Funds
- Other investments

Each investment can contain:

- Instrument name
- Investment type
- Start date
- Investment amount
- Contribution amount
- Contribution frequency
- Number of contributions
- Contributions completed
- Expected CAGR
- Current value
- Future value

The application should support CAGR-based calculations wherever applicable.

7. Chit Fund Management

Chit Funds require specialized tracking.

Each Chit Fund should support:

- Chit name
- Chit amount
- Monthly contribution
- Start date
- Payment date
- Total number of contributions
- Contributions completed
- Remaining contributions
- Expected payout
- Maturity date

Different chit funds can have different contribution amounts and payment dates.

The system should automatically calculate remaining contributions and relevant dates.

8. Financial Goal

The user should be able to create a financial target.

For example:

Target: ₹10,00,000
Target Date: 31 December 2027

The application should calculate:

- Current progress
- Percentage completed
- Amount remaining
- Days remaining
- Required earnings/growth
- Progress toward target

The system should use the defined balance logic consistently.

Gold and Silver accumulation should not be included in the target balance unless specifically configured.

9. Loans / Advances Given

There should be a section for tracking money given as loans/advances.

Each entry should include:

- Person/name
- Amount
- Date given
- Expected return date
- Interest rate, if applicable
- Interest received
- Outstanding amount
- Status

Loans given should be shown separately from the normal bank balance.

Interest received should be capable of being recorded as income.

10. Market Data

For instruments requiring market/exchange values, such as:

- USD/INR
- Gold
- Silver

the application should use a reliable and genuine API/data source.

There should also be an option to manually update or override values if required.

Market data should be used primarily for calculations rather than unnecessarily occupying the Home screen.

11. Dark & Light Theme

The application must support:

- Light Mode
- Dark Mode

The UI should look professional and consistent in both modes.

12. UI / UX Requirements

The application should have a modern design inspired by the usability of leading personal finance applications such as Money Manager.

Requirements:

- Clean dashboard
- Modern cards
- Clear sections
- Good typography
- Proper spacing
- Easy navigation
- Simple data entry
- Minimal number of taps
- Responsive layout
- Professional financial-app appearance
- Dark and Light themes

The application should feel like a real production-quality financial application, not a basic demo or template.

13. Technology

Preferred technology:

- Kotlin
- Android Studio
- Jetpack Compose or another modern Android UI framework
- Room/local database
- Clean architecture
- Proper state management
- Modular and maintainable code

The app should work offline for normal financial tracking.

Internet connectivity should only be required for features such as market-price updates.

14. Data & Calculations

Accuracy is extremely important.

The application must correctly maintain relationships between:

Income → Expenses → Transfers → Investments → Assets → Wealth → Financial Goal

For example, transferring ₹10,000 from Axis to Kotak should change the individual account balances but should not increase total wealth.

Similarly, an investment contribution should reduce the relevant cash/bank balance and increase the investment balance.

All calculations should be consistent throughout the application.

15. Future Expandability

The application should be designed so that future features can be added easily, including:

- Additional investment types
- More financial accounts
- Advanced analytics
- Charts
- Reports
- Excel/CSV export
- PDF reports
- Cloud backup
- Notifications/reminders
- Additional financial goals

The developer will be responsible for creating the complete application from scratch.
