I am setting off on a two-month journey through Bihar and Jharkhand to gather intimate, first-person accounts of how ordinary people confront and overcome extraordinary challenges. These stories will form the backbone of a novel-style narrative, so every detail—tone of voice, setting, texture of daily life—matters.

You will work independently, with guidance on what to cover, to:

• Approach individuals connected to the life story / biography style coverage.
• Conduct in-depth interviews in Hindi, recording clean audio and candid photographs.
• Capture supporting context: street scenes, workplaces, family interactions, festivals—anything that anchors the storyteller in place.
• Translate and transcribe each interview promptly, flagging emotional high points and potential narrative threads.
• Secure written or recorded consent, organised by participant and date.
• Deliver weekly folders containing raw audio, photos, transcripts, and a brief summary of each subject’s key “triumph” moments.

Acceptance criteria
1. Minimum 20 complete interview sets (audio + transcript + five photos each).
2. All materials labelled in a consistent folder structure, ready for immediate manuscript development.
3. Consent documentation attached to every story.

Experience with documentary fieldwork, photography, and basic audio capture (Zoom H1n, Tascam, etc.) is ideal. Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity are essential; compelling storytelling begins with trust.

Travel begins next month and lasts roughly eight weeks, with an adaptable itinerary. If you can commit to the full duration—or propose a focused segment—let’s discuss how we can craft these powerful life stories together.
