Status: Schematic is finalized — layout work only (with expert schematic/BOM review).
Project Overview
I need an experienced PCB designer to create the PCB layout for a small precision encoder module with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connectivity. The complete electronic schematic and BOM are already defined; your task is the board layout, design review, and preparation of full manufacturing data. A schematic review is required to confirm correctness before placement begins.
Board Architecture:
The board contains two functionally independent sections, which must be physically separated to avoid mutual interference:
- Encoder section: STM32G474 microcontroller and its supporting peripherals, two AM26LV32E differential line receivers and ESDA6V1SC6 ESD protection device.
- Bluetooth section: EBYTE E73-2G4M08S1CX BLE module (nRF52840-based, pre-certified) — the IPEX/U.FL antenna connector is integrated into the module itself, so no antenna connector needs to be placed on the PCB, supporting peripherals and USBLC6-2SC6 ESD protection device (on USB lines).
No RF/antenna design is required. Standard good practice applies: maintain solid ground under the module per the EBYTE reference layout, keep the antenna connector area clear of obstacles at the board edge (the external antenna connects directly to the module), and keep noisy encoder signals routed away from the BLE section.
Design Requirements:
- Layers: 4-layer [layer stackup — e.g., SIG / GND / PWR / SIG]
- Dimensions: 40 mm × 60–80 mm
- Placement: Encoder and BLE sections placed in clearly separated areas of the board.
- Components: All SMD; the only through-hole part is the 5-pin programming connector.
Inputs I Will Provide:
- Altium schematic (also as PDF) and BOM
- Netlist
- Mechanical outline of the enclosure/module
- Datasheets for requested components (MCU, BLE module, receivers, ESD parts)
Please confirm receipt and completeness of these inputs before starting component placement. Flag anything missing immediately.
Design Review:
Before layout begins, perform an expert review of the schematic and BOM and report any errors (footprint mismatches, wrong part numbers, electrical issues, missing decoupling, etc.). I will confirm or correct findings before you proceed with placement.
Deliverables (board ready for ordering and assembly):
- Fully editable Altium project files (schematic + PCB, including libraries/footprints used)
- Manufacturing package: Gerber files, NC drill files, solder mask layers
- Assembly package: Pick-and-Place (component placement) file
- Updated BOM reflecting any footprint or part-number changes made during review/layout
