Project description:
I'm building a handheld IR thermometer and need a compact PCB designed from a working schematic/netlist I already have. The prototype works on breadboard; I need a manufacturable SMD board.
Core components:
ESP8266 (MCU module)
MLX90614 IR temperature sensor (I2C, TO-46 metal can package — through-hole)
Waveshare 1.69" LCD module (SPI, header/FPC connection)
3.7V 400mAh Li-Po battery (JST-PH connector)
TP4056-based charge/protection circuit
P-MOSFET load switch on the sensor's power rail (GPIO-controlled), used to force a clean power-on reset of the sensor and avoid I2C bus lockups
I2C pull-up resistors, decoupling caps, power switch, optional status LED
Scope of work:
Review and refine the schematic (netlist and BOM will be provided) in KiCad or EasyEDA — your call, please confirm.
Select correct footprints for all parts, including the MLX90614 TO-46 can and the exact Waveshare LCD module connector (I'll provide the datasheet/part link).
Route all traces, run DRC, and add mounting holes suitable for a small enclosure.
Deliver Gerber files, BOM, pick-and-place file (for SMD assembly via JLCPCB/PCBWay), and the native KiCad/EasyEDA project files.
Optional: basic enclosure clearance check (I'll share rough enclosure dimensions if needed).
Deliverables:
Schematic file (.kicad_sch or EasyEDA project)
PCB layout file (.kicad_pcb or EasyEDA project)
Gerbers + drill files, ready for fab
BOM with SMD part numbers (JLCPCB/LCSC preferred for easy sourcing)
Pick-and-place (centroid) file for assembly
