Paper Invoice Data Entry

I need to turn a stack of paper invoices into clean, searchable digital records. Every sheet shows an invoice number, date, supplier name, and total amount, and those four fields are the only details I require in the final file. Accuracy matters more than speed, yet I would like the work completed promptly so these figures can move straight into our accounting workflow.
Here is how I picture the process:
• Create or use a spreadsheet template (Excel or Google Sheets is fine) with columns for Invoice Number, Date, Supplier, and Total Amount.
• Manually type the data from each paper document, double-checking entries to prevent transposed digits or missing characters.
• Flag unreadable fields so I can review them quickly rather than guessing.
• Return the completed spreadsheet along with a brief log of any invoices you could not decipher 100 %.
I will scan and upload the paperwork in batches as clear PDFs to keep the hand-offs simple. If you already use data-verification techniques such as conditional formatting, cross-totals, or a second-pass proofread, let me know—those approaches tend to catch small errors before they land in the books.
Deliverable: one fully populated spreadsheet ready for import into our accounting system and a short notes file listing exceptions (if any).
