We're looking for writers who can take stiff, AI-written text and make it read like a thoughtful person wrote it, without losing a single fact.
THE TEST
Rewrite one short paragraph (about 170 words) using only that paragraph and the notes we give you. AI tools are allowed; online research is not. It takes about half an hour. We send it to you as soon as you're hired on October 15, and it's due by 6:00 pm Eastern (22:00 UTC) on October 15. Every writer we select for the test is paid $40.
WHAT COMES NEXT
The writers with the best tests are invited to a $500 project: a technical white paper written from finished research. After that, we expect recurring paid work of $500 and up for the writers we most enjoy working with. Everything, including the follow-up work and payment, stays on Freelancer.com.
ABOUT THE CLIENT
The client is a US-based technology research firm. The work is ghostwritten: no byline, and the rights pass to the client.
HOW TO APPLY
Payment: $40 in one milestone, released when your answer arrives by the deadline.
Please answer these four questions in your bid:
1. Share one piece of nonfiction you wrote yourself, at least 300 words, that you think best shows you can write natural, human prose. Any topic, any form; put your best foot forward. Paste a public link in your bid (a Google Doc, Drive or Dropbox link, or a web page; not LinkedIn or anything behind a login), with one line on what you wrote. If you'd rather send a file, say so and attach it in the chat when we message you. We read it only for how human the writing is.
2. Do you accept ghostwriting with no byline anywhere and full transfer of IP to the client? (Yes or no.)
3. Are you free to take outside ghostwriting work, with no current contract or employer agreement that stops you? (Yes or no.)
4. Can you submit your test answer by 6:00 pm Eastern (22:00 UTC) on October 15? (Yes or no.)
