OVERVIEW
────────
Orion is a proprietary AI agent coordination platform with a functional
desktop GUI built in Python/tkinter. The application features a multi-panel
layout (left navigation sidebar, center content area, right agent status
panel), a chat interface, a code input editor, a dashboard, wallet
connection, dark/light theme system, and a 6-agent backend simulation.

The codebase is working and launches. The architecture, backend logic,
engine integrations, and overall layout must NOT be changed. The job is
to take the existing UI from "working prototype" to "finished, polished
desktop application" — professional visual quality, smooth interactions,
and complete UX throughout.

EXISTING CODEBASE (10 files, ~12,150 lines)
───────────────────────────────────────────
orion_desktop.py 1,243 lines — Desktop GUI (THIS IS THE FOCUS)

Network, Input/Output/Total Tokens, GPU, Boost Level, Benchmarks),
current-tasks list with status icons
• Agents: ScrolledText detail view per agent
• History: Chronological message log
- Right panel: Agent status cards (6 agents: Alpha through Zeta) with
status dot, name, role, status text, current task
- Status bar: Status text left, agent count right
- Theme system: Full dark (#1a1a2e) and light (#f5f5f5) themes with
20+ color tokens, recursive widget theming
- SimBackend: 6 agents with roles (diagnostic, repair, build, review,
test, optimize), intent detection routing user input to agents,
language detection (Python/Rust/Go/JS/Java/Solidity/C++),
integration with LanguageEngine, CompressionEngine, HardwareEngine
- Wallet: Connect dialog with 0x address validation, Arbitrum One
network, 25.0 voucher balance on connect
- Settings: Read-only info dialog
- Headless test mode: 45+ tests runnable with --test flag

SCOPE OF WORK — What needs finishing
─────────────────────────────────────
The developer should polish and complete the UI without altering the
backend engines or the overall architecture. Specific areas:

1. VISUAL POLISH
- Refine spacing, padding, and alignment across all panels
- Add proper hover states and active states to all buttons
- Smooth transitions when switching between navigation panels
- Polish the agent status cards (better layout, progress indicators)
- Make the dashboard stat cards look professional (borders, shadows
or relief effects appropriate for tkinter)
- Ensure consistent font sizing and weight hierarchy
- Add subtle visual feedback for user actions (button clicks,
message sent, task started)

2. CODE EDITOR IMPROVEMENTS
- Add line numbers gutter alongside the code editor
- Add basic syntax highlighting (at minimum: keywords, strings,
comments for Python/JS/Rust/Go/Solidity)
- Add drag-and-drop file support (drop a file onto the editor to
load it)
- Add a clear/reset button for the editor

3. CHAT PANEL
- Add visual distinction between user and Orion messages (message
bubbles, background shading, or clear visual separation)
- Add a typing/processing indicator when Orion is generating a
response
- Add copy-to-clipboard button on Orion responses
- Render code blocks in monospace with a subtle background
- Add scroll-to-bottom button when scrolled up
- Timestamp formatting and alignment

4. DASHBOARD
- Make stat cards update in real-time (periodic refresh or
event-driven updates)
- Add visual indicators for changing values (flash or highlight
on update)
- Progress bars or visual gauges where appropriate (GPU
utilization, boost level, token usage)

5. AGENT STATUS PANEL
- Animate or visually indicate agent state transitions (idle →
processing → complete)
- Add click interaction on agent cards (expand to show detail or
task history)
- Show task progress as a percentage or progress bar when
processing

6. WALLET & SETTINGS
- Polish the wallet connection dialog (better layout, validation
feedback)
- Make the settings dialog functional where appropriate (allow
changing settings that don't affect the core engine)
- Add network selection or display improvements

7. GENERAL UX
- Add keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+N new session, Ctrl+T toggle theme,
Ctrl+1/2/3/4/5 for navigation panels)
- Add window title updates reflecting current view
- Ensure the PanedWindow sash handles are styled and visible
- Handle edge cases: empty states, long text overflow, window
resize at all sizes
- Add a proper close confirmation if tasks are in progress
- Ensure the status bar updates meaningfully during operations
- Add tooltips on icons and compact UI elements

8. BUILD & PACKAGING
- Verify the PyInstaller build (build_exe.py) produces a working
.exe with all dependencies bundled
- Test on Windows 10/11 at minimum
- Ensure fonts fall back gracefully if Segoe UI or Consolas are
not available

CONSTRAINTS
───────────
✗ Do NOT modify orion_system.py, orion_language_engine.py,
orion_compression_engine.py, orion_hardware_engine.py, bridge.py,
seal_all.py, or testing_benchmarks.py
✗ Do NOT change the SimBackend class interface or agent system
✗ Do NOT change the theme color tokens (you may add new tokens)
✗ Do NOT switch frameworks (must remain tkinter-based)
