Original Large-Scale Sumi Ink Artwork Commission

I’m looking to commission an original large-scale Sumi ink / Japanese ink-wash artwork for the entry of a private residence.

The piece should feel minimal, sophisticated, organic and highly artistic, using black, charcoal and soft gray ink on a warm white or natural ground. I’m drawn to work where organic forms become abstract—fluid curves, movement, texture and negative space rather than a literal landscape, flower or recognizable object.

The feeling should be quiet but powerful: contemporary fine art with the restraint and imperfection of traditional Sumi-e. I do not want generic abstract wall décor, calligraphy, or a traditional Japanese landscape.

The final artwork needs to be horizontal/landscape, approximately 68–72” wide × 40–46” high (maximum 48” high).

I’m open to either an original physical work on paper that can be shipped, or a work created at very high resolution and supplied as a print-ready digital file for large-format fine-art printing.

Please share examples of relevant Sumi ink, ink wash, charcoal, or large-scale abstract work in your portfolio. I’m particularly interested in artists who understand negative space, organic form, subtle tonal variation and restraint.
