Organize & Reconcile Xero Books

My books need a thorough one-time clean-up so I can confidently take over the day-to-day bookkeeping myself. At the moment invoices, receipts, bank statements, and expense reports are partially entered in Xero and partially sitting in folders; nothing ties together neatly. Xero is already connected to my bank feed, but the chart of accounts and a few bank-rule settings probably need a quick review.

Here’s what a successful hand-off looks like:

• Every invoice, receipt, and expense report through the agreed cut-off date is entered and matched to its supporting document inside Xero.
• All transactions are fully reconciled with the bank feed, leaving zero outstanding items.
• Expenses are categorised consistently, with any small improvements to account codes or rules documented.
• Standard financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) run cleanly without classification errors.
• A short hand-over note explains any tweaks you made and the workflow I should follow to keep things tidy going forward.

Once the records are ship-shape I’ll handle ongoing maintenance, so clarity and accuracy are critical. If you’re comfortable organising financial records, reconciling bank accounts, and fine-tuning Xero, I’m ready to get started right away.
