We have Oracle and MS-SQL environments that need expert support, and for compliance purposes the work must be performed by someone who is physically located in Canada.
Here is the immediate scope:
Oracle upgrades
– Plan and execute version upgrades on Development and Production databases, ensuring minimal downtime and a clean rollback path.
– Review current backup, recovery and high-availability strategies and adjust them to suit the new versions.
Ongoing operational support
– Handle day-to-day administration, performance tuning, security patching and capacity planning.
– Document every change clearly so our internal team can trace what was done and why.
Integration assistance for active projects
– Our developers are building Web and Desktop applications that rely on these databases. You’ll advise on schema changes, indexing strategy and connection best-practices, then help wire everything together.
– We also lean on Microsoft 365 tools: Power Automate for workflow, Power BI for reporting and dashboards, and Forms for quick data capture. You’ll expose the right data sets securely so these services can consume them.
Deliverables
• Upgrade run-books and executed change records for each database instance
• Verified backup / restore tests post-upgrade
• Updated ER diagrams and schema documentation where changes occur
• Connection and integration guides for the Web/Desktop apps and M365 services
• A short knowledge-transfer session (recorded) summarising key configurations and next steps
You should already be comfortable with Oracle RMAN, Data Pump, SQL Server Management Studio, Always On / RAC concepts, and scripting (PowerShell or Bash) for automation. Clear, timely communication is essential; most coordination happens over Microsoft Teams during Eastern Time (EST) business hours.
If you’re in Canada and have hands-on experience with both platforms we would love to hear from you.
