Project title: YouTube Channel Optimization and Content Repositioning for Cybersecurity Channel
Project description:
Right of Boom is a community for MSPs (managed service providers) focused on building and running cybersecurity practices. Our YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/@rightofboom) is home to The CyberCall, our weekly show, and sessions from the Right of Boom conference.
We have a lot of good content, but the channel isn't set up to help people find it or keep watching. We're looking for someone who knows YouTube growth to optimize the channel, reposition our content and manage our Shorts.
As a reference point, we like what John Hammond has done with his channel (https://www.youtube.com/@_JohnHammond). His thumbnails follow a consistent formula: his face with a clear expression, one recognizable logo or image, and one or two bold words. His playlists are organized into themed series, and he uses every part of the channel, including Podcasts, Shorts and Posts. Our audience is MSP owners and security leaders rather than individual learners, so we need someone who can adapt that approach to a business audience.
Scope of work:
Channel audit. Review the channel and give us a short report on what's working, what isn't and what to fix first.
Channel setup. Update the banner, About section, keywords, channel trailer and featured content.
Podcasts tab and playlists. Set up The CyberCall in the YouTube Podcasts tab and organize our library into themed playlists with descriptions.
Thumbnails. Create a consistent thumbnail template for The CyberCall and our conference sessions, featuring the host or guest, one recognizable logo or image, and short bold text. Design thumbnails for our existing library, starting with the most-watched videos.
Titles, descriptions and tags. Rewrite titles and descriptions on existing videos so they're searchable and clear, and set up templates we can use for new uploads.
Shorts. Upload and optimize Shorts from clips we provide, with titles, descriptions and a regular posting schedule.
Reporting. Monthly report on views, watch time, subscriber growth and what's performing best.
What we're looking for:
Proven experience growing YouTube channels, ideally in B2B, technology or cybersecurity
Strong thumbnail design skills
Understanding of YouTube search and recommendations
Experience with Shorts
Good written English
Bonus: familiarity with cybersecurity or the MSP industry
To apply, please include:
Links to YouTube channels you've worked on, with results (before and after numbers if possible)
Examples of thumbnails you've designed
Three things you would change first on our channel and why
Whether you can create thumbnails from video stills or will need headshots from us
Your pricing for the initial setup and for ongoing monthly work
Applications without specific suggestions for our channel won't be considered.
