I need an experienced mechanical engineer to rethink an existing machine so it runs significantly more efficiently. The current design performs its task reliably, but power consumption is high and several moving components cause unnecessary downtime for maintenance.

You will receive the original 3-D CAD model (SolidWorks) along with performance logs, vibration data, and photos of wear points. Your task is to analyse the weak spots, propose redesigns for critical sub-assemblies, and demonstrate—through calculation or simulation—that the new concept will cut energy use and extend component life.

Key deliverables
• Updated CAD files and 2-D manufacturing drawings in native and neutral formats
• Brief engineering report detailing the design rationale, efficiency gains, and any FEA/kinematic results
• Bill of materials with specified off-the-shelf and custom parts
• Implementation guidelines that our in-house technicians can follow during retrofit

Success will be measured by at least a 15 % reduction in power draw at the current throughput while maintaining safety factors identical to the original build. If you have a proven background in machine design optimisation, especially with rotating or reciprocating equipment, I look forward to collaborating.
