I’m looking for an experienced developer (at least four years hands-on) who can sit with our product team in the NCR office for the next six months, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM. The work centres on a large-scale web application already in production.
Your day-to-day focus will be split between building new modules that the business team has specced out and keeping the current codebase healthy—refactoring, fixing bugs and making incremental performance gains. We run a lean stack, so deep knowledge of core PHP and core Java is more valuable to us than framework expertise; if you can read, write and optimise plain PHP/Java, you’ll fit right in.
A typical week will involve:
• Scoping and coding new features from user stories supplied by the product owner
• Reviewing legacy code, identifying hot spots and patching them before they escalate
• Committing well-documented code to our Git repo and walking the QA engineer through your changes
Because you’ll be onsite, strong communication skills matter as much as technical ability—you’ll brainstorm directly with UX, QA and business stakeholders. If you’re ready for a stable, six-month engagement in NCR and enjoy a mix of new development plus maintenance, I’d like to talk.
