Freelance WordPress Technical Project Manager — Ongoing Website Maintenance
The Creators Index is looking for an experienced freelancer to manage, maintain and improve [thecreatorsindex.com](https://thecreatorsindex.com) on an ongoing basis.
- Take ownership of the website: Review the existing setup, take a proper handover from the current team, identify pending issues and create a clear action plan.
- Strong technical expertise: Must be comfortable with WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, custom plugins and integrations, and able to diagnose and implement fixes.
- Maintain the website: Handle WordPress, theme and plugin updates, backups, security, uptime monitoring and hosting-related troubleshooting.
- Fix issues properly: Resolve broken layouts, mobile display problems, plugin conflicts and malfunctioning features, and investigate why issues recur.
- Manage custom tools and forms: Maintain tools such as our Rate Card Calculator, Invoice Generator and Trend Finder. Ensure enquiry, newsletter and workshop forms work, with required leads stored and accessible within WordPress.
- Implement website changes: Build and update landing pages, banners, homepage sections and article layouts using designs, assets or code supplied by our team.
- Own testing and quality: Test changes in a staging environment before release, verify desktop and mobile behaviour, and check complete form submissions and existing features after updates.
- Improve performance: Address loading speed, image optimisation and technical SEO issues in coordination with our editorial and SEO teams.
- Manage delivery proactively: Maintain a shared task tracker, commit to realistic deadlines, provide weekly updates and agree response times for urgent issues.
- Keep work maintainable: Document custom code, integrations and changes, with all website accounts, licences and access under company control.
