I am looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA who can step in daily and keep our production environment running smoothly on SQL Server 2019. The databases you will touch are all relational and mission-critical, so deep, hands-on knowledge of T-SQL, SSMS, DMVs and standard performance-tuning techniques is essential.
Your focus areas will be:
• Database maintenance and optimization – index and statistics management, query tuning, health checks, baselining and alerting.
• Backup and disaster-recovery planning – setting up and validating full and differential strategies, log shipping or Always On availability groups, and running periodic restore tests.
• Database security and user management – hardening surface area, managing roles and permissions, auditing changes, and enforcing compliance with our existing security policies.
I will provide VPN access to the servers, an agreed task list each morning, and a shared dashboard to track completed work. Expected response time during business hours is under 30 minutes for critical alerts, with non-urgent tasks finished by end of day. Clean documentation of every change in our Git-tracked runbook closes each task.
