I’m looking for a reliable CAD partner who can step in whenever my shop needs mechanical parts prepared for CNC production. Most of the work centers on providing technical support for our mills and lathes rather than creating flashy new shapes—I need someone who understands feeds, speeds, tool clearance, and how small design tweaks affect cycle time.
Typical workflow
• Receive my sketch, legacy CAD, or sample part
• Clean it up or remodel it into a production-ready STEP file
• Suggest fixture points, radii, or reliefs that improve machinability
• Return the final STEP along with a brief note on any critical tolerances or setup considerations
What I value
• Solid command of CNC manufacturing constraints (3-axis and 5-axis)
• Proficiency in common CAD/CAM suites such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or Mastercam
• Quick turnaround—most jobs are a few hours to a day once the scope is clear
• Clear communication so we can avoid shop-floor surprises
If you’re comfortable fine-tuning mechanical parts for actual chips-on-the-floor production and can provide well-documented STEP files on an ongoing basis, let’s get started.
