On-Site Operations Management Intern

I’m looking for an energetic intern who can step straight into the day-to-day running of our operation and keep stock, data, and orders flowing smoothly from the warehouse floor to the customer’s door. You’ll be based entirely on-site, working side-by-side with me and the rest of the team, so expect plenty of hands-on exposure to real supply-chain challenges rather than remote spreadsheets only.

Your main focus will be inventory management and the wider rhythm of daily operations. Throughout the day you will:

• track incoming and outgoing stock, update counts in Excel in real time, and flag discrepancies before they become shortages
• prepare pick-lists, oversee packaging and order fulfilment, and attach the right paperwork so every parcel leaves first time, right every time
• record wastage, investigate its root causes, and suggest actions that keep write-offs to an absolute minimum
• transform raw numbers into simple dashboards or pivot-table summaries that help us spot bottlenecks and tweak processes quickly

A solid grasp of Excel and data entry is essential, as is a foundation in supply-chain or logistics coursework; if you have touched MRP/ERP screens before, that’s even better. What matters most is curiosity, accuracy, and the confidence to speak up when something on the shelf or in the sheet doesn’t add up.

By the end of each week I’d like to see two tangible outputs: an updated inventory snapshot and a short note on any process improvement you think is worth testing. Impress me with clear data and practical ideas, and you’ll have plenty of room to take on bigger optimisation projects over the placement.
