I am entering the active construction phase of a new office building and need an experienced construction manager who can be physically present on site each day. Your focus will be:
• Project coordination – keep the schedule current, run progress meetings, and handle RFIs or change orders as they arise.
• Quality control – carry out continuous inspections, document issues with photos, and verify every trade’s work against plans and code before sign-off.
• Subcontractor management – direct daily activities, confirm manpower levels, enforce safety standards, and resolve conflicts quickly so nothing stalls the build.
You will issue concise daily notes and a weekly progress report that highlights completed work, upcoming milestones, and any risks I should know about. Regular punch-list updates and a three-week look-ahead schedule form part of the deliverables.
The role lasts until substantial completion; hours are predominantly Monday-Friday, with the flexibility to make brief weekend visits if critical work is scheduled. Familiarity with Procore, MS Project, or comparable tools will help streamline reporting, but the most important requirement is confident, on-site leadership during the construction phase of this office build.
Tell me about your recent in-person commercial projects, the software you like to use for tracking, and when you could be on site.
