We’re an early-stage fintech focused on payments and real-time transactions. To stay lean, I want a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) who can step in only when needed, bill for the hours used, and keep us fully aligned with regulatory expectations.
Core scope
• Plan and execute risk-based internal audits covering AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, and payment-rail regulations.
• Draft, review, and continuously refine our internal compliance policies so they stay current with evolving rules (PSD2, PCI-DSS, relevant state money-transmitter laws, etc.).
• Optional: occasional guidance on regulatory reports if a filing window overlaps with audit or policy work.
Engagement style
All work is remote, task-based, and queued through Jira; I release tasks and milestones as the need arises. Clear, concise reporting is critical—each engagement should close with an actionable audit report or red-lined policy document that my team can implement without follow-up questions.
Acceptance criteria
1. Internal audit report delivered in PDF, including scope, findings, risk rating, and remediation recommendations.
2. Updated policy document returned in Word/Google Doc with tracked changes and a brief change-log summary.
3. Turnaround agreed per task before you start; typical window is five business days or faster for urgent items.
If you thrive on flexible, pay-as-you-go work and have proven payments-sector expertise, this arrangement should fit well.
