Odoo POS Specialist for Apparel Retailer

Project Title: Odoo POS Setup and Integration for Multi-Store Apparel Retailer

We are a South African apparel company operating approximately six retail stores, an online Shopify store, a warehouse and our own manufacturing facility. We currently use Lightspeed POS, Cin7 for inventory and Xero for accounting.

We are looking for an experienced Odoo specialist to configure and implement Odoo POS, initially as a pilot in one store, with the intention of rolling it out across all stores.

Initial scope

* Configure Odoo POS for an apparel retailer
* Products with size, colour and style variants
* Barcode scanning and label printing
* Multiple stores, tills and stock locations
* Sales, refunds and cross-store exchanges
* Discounts, promotions, gift cards and store credit
* Staff access levels and till controls
* Cash-up and payment reconciliation
* Store replenishment and stock transfers
* Customer profiles and purchase history
* Relevant retail and management reports
* Shopify integration or recommendation of a proven connector
* Product, customer and opening-stock migration
* User training and implementation documentation

We want to use standard Odoo functionality and proven existing modules wherever possible. We are not looking to rebuild a POS from scratch. Any proposed custom development must be clearly motivated and separately costed.

Phase one deliverables

1. Review our existing retail and stock processes.
2. Recommend the appropriate Odoo version and hosting arrangement.
3. Identify what is standard, what requires configuration and what genuinely requires development.
4. Configure a working one-store pilot.
5. Demonstrate sales, refunds, exchanges, store credit, stock transfers, cash-up and Shopify stock synchronisation.
6. Provide an estimate and rollout plan for the remaining stores.

Required experience

* Demonstrable Odoo POS implementation experience
* Strong understanding of Odoo Inventory
* Experience with multi-store apparel or fashion retail
* Python, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Owl and XML
* Shopify integration experience
* Data migration and API integration experience
* Good written and spoken English
* Ability to provide ongoing support

Experience with South African retail, VAT, Xero and local payment providers would be beneficial.
