OCR Scanned PNG Documents

I have a batch of English-language documents that were scanned and saved as PNG files. I simply need the written content lifted out of each image and returned to me as clean, editable text—free of line-break quirks and obvious OCR errors.

Accuracy matters more than speed; please proof what the software gives you so the final copy matches the source word-for-word. A straightforward text file (or one Word document per image) is all I’m after. If you already work with Tesseract, Adobe Acrobat, or a similar OCR tool—and you’re comfortable tidying up the output—I’d like to hear from you.
