I’m wrapping up a murder-mystery novel aimed at both adults and older teens and now need the visuals that will give it an unmistakable classic detective/noir feel. Think deep shadows, stark contrasts, and a slightly vintage atmosphere—evoking smoky alleyways and dimly lit offices more than splashy graphic-novel flair.
The cover is the priority: it must revolve around a single crime scene detail or key clue that drives the plot. I want readers to sense danger and curiosity the moment they see the book on a shelf. In addition, every chapter opens with its own small illustration to keep that same tension running through the entire read.
Deliverables
• Print-ready full-wrap cover (front, spine, back) at 300 dpi, CMYK, layered PSD/AI or similar.
• A consistent set of chapter-opening images (black-and-white or a tightly limited color palette) sized for a 6"×9" layout; final count to be agreed once you see the manuscript outline.
• All working files and flattened high-res PNG/TIFF exports.
Acceptance
The artwork should match the agreed noir palette, reproduce cleanly in print and e-book formats, and remain consistent in style across every illustration. Once we lock in the cover concept I’ll share chapter summaries so you can storyboard the remaining images. Looking forward to seeing how you bring this mystery to life.
