I am conducting a long-running mystery-visit study of France Visa Application Centres (VACs) in the United States and need one complete fieldwork package from each of the following cities: New York, Boston, Miami, Houston, and Los Angeles. The assignment takes about two to three hours in total and the window for completion is open until September 2026, so you may schedule the visit at your convenience as long as you respect the centre’s appointment calendar.
Scope of the visit
You will move through the entire online France-visa application journey—but stop just before any payment, biometric capture, or passport submission. While doing so, capture four to five short clips (30–45 seconds each) that illustrate key user-experience moments. After securing an appointment slot online, you will attend the centre in person, discreetly observing staff behaviour, signage, and overall customer flow. A brief call to the official enquiry hotline and a quick audit of the VAC website are also part of the evaluation.
Deliverables (to be uploaded within 48 hours of your visit)
• 4–5 mobile-video snippets recorded during the online process
• 3–5 still photos of the VAC interior/exterior taken in accordance with centre rules
• Proof of residency (utility bill, lease, or similar) so the visit can be validated for payment
• A completed 79-question survey (template provided) plus a short narrative summary of your overall experience
Acceptance criteria
• You must physically attend the booked appointment; virtual or proxy visits are not accepted.
• The online application must be abandoned before the payment screen—no fees should be incurred.
• All media files must be clear, time-stamped, and labelled.
• Questionnaire responses should be detailed, factual, and free of personal identifiers other than what is required for validation.
Tools and platforms involved: France-Visas web portal, TLScontact/VFS appointment system, basic smartphone camera/video recording, standard office-suite software for the questionnaire.
If you live within reasonable travel distance of any target city, are comfortable following detailed instructions, and can keep the exercise confidential, this study will be a straightforward, engaging way to contribute to service-quality research.
