Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Field Network Engineer to support a scheduled network hardware installation at a customer site in Arjeplog, Sweden.

Engineer Requirements
CCNP or equivalent networking qualification/experience.
Strong knowledge of basic router configuration.
Good English communication skills and ability to communicate in the local language.
Must carry a valid ID card and wear formal/business attire on site.
Must review and understand the provided Method of Procedure (MOP) before attending site.
Previous experience with network/router installations is preferred.
Laptop & Technical Requirements

Engineer must bring a Windows laptop meeting the following requirements:

Windows 10 Professional/Enterprise or Windows 11.
Gigabit Ethernet port.
VLAN configuration capability.
Serial/console interface or USB-to-Serial capability.
Internet connectivity/dongle.
TeamViewer 15 installed.
iPerf installed.
Microsoft Network Monitor installed.
Realtek diagnostic utility installed.
Wireshark installed if using Windows 11.
All required drivers and software must be up to date.
Tools & Equipment

Engineer must carry all equipment required for the installation, including:

Console cable
Straight-through Ethernet cable
Cross-over Ethernet cable
CAT5 UTP cables
USB-to-COM/Serial adapter
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Wire cutters/clippers
Cable ties
Insulation tape
Labeling machine
Other standard tools required for network hardware installation
Scope of Work

The engineer will be required to:

Arrive on site at least 30 minutes before the maintenance window.
Perform a site/risk assessment before starting work.
Photograph the rack and identify any potential risks.
Share the risk assessment and photographs with the remote coordinating network representative before commencing installation.
Inspect the supplied hardware and immediately report any damage.
Obtain remote approval before beginning installation.
Connect the provider router/NTU to the new network router as instructed by the remote network engineer.
Connect the customer-provided PSTN line to the OOB modem and connect the modem to the router console.
Route and label all cables and equipment neatly.
Work under the guidance of the remote network engineer throughout the installation.
Take and submit all required post-installation photographs.
Complete and submit the Site Visit Report after the work is finished.
Required Post-Installation Photos

The engineer must provide clear photographs showing:

Carrier device and its labeling.
Complete front view of the equipment rack.
Complete rear view of the equipment rack.
Router labeling.
Modem labeling.
Clear view of all device connections and cable routing.
Important Site Instructions
Do not disturb or disconnect any existing customer cables.
Do not perform any work outside the agreed scope.
All technical queries must be directed to the remote coordinating network representative, not the customer.
Installation work must only be performed when the appropriate customer representative is present.
When asked, the engineer should state that they are representing the network services provider.
The engineer must remain on site until released by the remote network representative.
Communication will be through official email, Microsoft Teams, or telephone.
