Start Time: 10:00 AM
We are looking for a qualified Field Engineer / Network Engineer to attend site and complete a network hardware installation.
Scope of Work
Conduct a site risk assessment and take photographs of the rack where the Client’s network device will be installed. Share photographs and any identified risks with the coordinating Client representative before starting work.
Inspect the supplied hardware kit and immediately notify the Client of any damage or missing items.
Do not begin any installation work until approval is received from the coordinating Client representative.
Build the connection between the provider router/NTU and the Client router as instructed by the Client engineer over the phone.
Connect the customer-provided PSTN line to the OOB modem, then connect the OOB modem to the router console port.
Ensure all cables are properly routed, secured and labelled, and all equipment/cables are clearly identified.
A Client engineer will be available remotely/on-call to guide the field engineer throughout the activity.
Upon completion, provide post-installation photographs and a Site Visit Report to the Client.
Engineer Must Bring / Have Available
Laptop
PuTTY or equivalent terminal/console software
Console cable compatible with the router
USB-to-Serial adapter, if required
Ethernet/network cables and patch leads
Cable tester, if required
Basic hand tools for rack installation
Screwdrivers and other standard installation tools
Cable management/Velcro ties
Cable labels and labelling equipment
Smartphone/camera for site photographs
Any other standard tools required to safely and professionally complete the installation
Engineer Requirements
Experience with network/rack installations
Familiar with routers, console connections, OOB equipment and structured cabling
Able to comply with customer site safety requirements
Able to communicate with the remote Client engineer during the activity
Must provide clear before/after site photographs and a completed Site Visit Report
