Our live e-commerce site is built on the Microsoft .NET stack and, while feature-complete, the backend has begun to drag under load. Pages that once rendered in under a second now spike past five, occasional time-outs appear in the logs, and CPU usage sits uncomfortably high. I’m looking for help focused strictly on bug fixes and ongoing maintenance, with the immediate priority being performance bottlenecks on the server side.
You’ll start by profiling the application (IIS, ASP.NET MVC / Web API, Entity Framework, SQL Server) to pinpoint slow spots—inefficient queries, memory leaks, or blocking calls. From there, I need clean, well-commented patches that restore sub-second response times under typical traffic and remain stable in our staging environment for at least 48 hours before deployment.
Deliverables
• Diagnostic report outlining root causes and performance metrics before/after fixes
• Refactored .NET code and updated database scripts where required
• A concise hand-off note describing changes, new settings (caching, connection pooling, etc.), and any monitoring recommendations
Acceptance criteria
• Average backend response ≤ 1 s on 95% of requests under current load
• No new exceptions introduced in Application Insights for 72 hours post-deploy
• All existing unit tests pass; any new tests you add included in solution
