micro1 is engaging NDT Subject Matter Experts – Laser Shearography (Level II / Level III) to support a customer's advanced aerospace inspection project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
Scope of Work

Conduct rigorous manual analysis of laser shearography data, including fringe patterns and interferograms, to identify and characterize composite material defects.

Review and interpret technical case papers, test logs, and inspection limits for aerospace applications using NDT standards.

Evaluate and document defect types, severity, and potential impact on composite structures, providing detailed rationale for decisions.

Deliver comprehensive written feedback on inspection findings, supporting the development and refinement of technical protocols.

Collaborate remotely with project managers and technical stakeholders via clear, professional written and verbal communication.

Ensure that all assessments and reviews are completed without the aid of AI tools, maintaining the highest standard of manual inspection integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

Current ASNT / NAS 410 / ISO 9712 Level II or Level III certification in Laser Shearography or related NDT methods.

Extensive hands-on experience with laser shearography, particularly in aerospace or advanced composite inspection scenarios.

Demonstrated expertise interpreting shearography fringe patterns and optical interferometry data for defect evaluation.

Strong analytical skills in defect identification, root cause analysis, and reporting within stringent aerospace standards.

Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including technical documentation and collaborative problem-solving.

Familiarity with industry best practices for non-destructive inspection of composite materials.

Experience providing technical guidance or quality engineering for similar NDT projects – direct inspection or review background is highly valued.
