# Hiring: Expert Brand Naming Strategist for a Global B2B SaaS Startup
**Project Type:** Fixed Price
**Category:** Branding / Business Naming / Brand Strategy
**Experience Required:** Senior / Expert
## Project Overview
I'm building a premium B2B SaaS company focused on automated PostgreSQL backups, backup integrity verification, disaster recovery, and automated restore testing.
Our target customers include developers, technical founders, CTOs, DevOps engineers, startups, and growing technology companies worldwide.
The long-term vision extends beyond database backups into cloud infrastructure, data security, disaster recovery, and developer tools.
I'm looking for an experienced brand naming strategist who can create a distinctive, memorable, globally credible company name with the potential to grow into a major technology brand.
This is not a logo design or website development project. The main objective is finding an exceptional company name and a suitable domain.
## What I'm Looking For
The name should be:
1. Short, clean, memorable, and easy to pronounce internationally.
2. Sophisticated, modern, premium, and commercially credible.
3. Suitable for a global B2B technology company.
4. Distinctive without sounding strange or artificially generated.
5. Easy to spell, search for, and remember.
6. Scalable beyond backups into cybersecurity, cloud and infrastructure services.
7. Preferably 5–8 letters, although quality matters more than length.
8. Ideally available as an exact .com domain at a reasonable price.
I admire the naming quality of companies such as Stripe, Vercel, Linear, Notion, and Cloudflare.
These are references for simplicity, confidence, memorability, and brand quality. I do not want copied names or variations of these brands.
The company name does not need to contain words like backup, secure, safe, cloud, vault, data, or recovery.
An abstract, standalone brand is welcome.
## What I Do NOT Want
- Random AI-generated naming lists.
- Awkward combinations of two unrelated words.
- Generic cybersecurity names with forced meanings.
- Pharmaceutical-sounding or fantasy-style invented words.
- Names selected primarily because the .com is available.
- Hundreds of names with no thoughtful brand evaluation.
- Names that are already being used by established software companies.
I've previously reviewed multiple naming rounds without finding anything suitable. I need a genuinely fresh, professional approach.
## Required Deliverables
1. A short discovery process to understand the company, customers, positioning, and brand personality.
2. Two or three distinct creative naming directions.
3. An initial curated shortlist of 10–15 high-quality names, with clear reasoning.
4. An objective evaluation covering memorability, pronunciation, spelling, distinctiveness, international suitability, and long-term brand potential.
5. Domain availability research for the strongest candidates, including exact .com availability and any aftermarket pricing.
6. Preliminary trademark and competing-brand checks, especially in the US, UK, and EU, relevant to software and technology services.
7. Simple wordmark presentations for the strongest finalists to assess how the names look as real company brands.
8. Up to two revision rounds based on feedback.
9. A final recommendation with clear advantages, disadvantages, domain options, and potential risks.
A preliminary trademark search is sufficient for this project; formal legal clearance will be handled separately if required.
## Important: Quality and Acceptance
I value creative quality over quantity.
I would rather receive five outstanding brand candidates than fifty average ones.
Please provide your independent professional judgment. If a proposed name is weak, don't recommend it simply because it has an available domain.
I expect a collaborative process with clear milestones, defined revision rounds, and an agreed acceptance process before work begins.
## Who Should Apply
I'm particularly interested in professionals who have:
- Proven experience naming startups, SaaS businesses, or technology companies.
- A portfolio of real brand naming projects.
- Strong brand strategy, positioning, and linguistic evaluation skills.
- Experience researching domains and preliminary trademark conflicts.
- The ability to explain why a name is commercially strong, not just creatively interesting.
## When Applying, Please Answer
1. Can you share 3–5 real company names you've created and explain your role?
2. What is your naming process, from discovery to final selection?
3. How do you avoid generic or AI-generated-sounding names?
4. How do you handle the challenge of finding a premium name with a realistic .com domain option?
5. How many initial candidates and revision rounds are included?
6. What is your fixed price and expected delivery schedule?
Please start your proposal with "BRAND STRATEGIST" so I know you've read the requirements.
I'm looking for someone who can help build the foundation of a serious international technology brand, not simply provide a domain-name list.
