I have a production MySQL database that needs to be copied in full to a fresh PostgreSQL instance. This is a one-time migration, so I’m after a clean, reliable transfer rather than an ongoing sync.

Scope
• Export every table, view, and relationship from MySQL and recreate them in PostgreSQL, preserving data types, primary/foreign keys, indexes, and auto-increments.
• Move all existing data—roughly the same row counts and content we have now—verifying record counts and spot-checking values so I can be confident nothing is lost or altered.
• Provide reusable migration scripts or commands (mysqldump, pgloader, psql, or similar) plus brief documentation so I can re-run the process if I ever repeat the exercise on staging.

Acceptance criteria
1. A PostgreSQL database that opens with zero errors and matches the original schema.
2. Data integrity confirmed: row counts for each table align; sample queries in both systems return identical results.
3. A concise migration report outlining the steps you took, any transformations applied, and how integrity was verified.

If you commonly use tools like pgloader, AWS DMS, or custom Python scripts (SQLAlchemy/Pandas), feel free to suggest the approach you find most robust.
