I need a striking, multicolor 3D-printed sign that reads “PRINTERPRISE-D Mk IV.” The lettering should stand out as a single, coherent piece rather than individual characters glued together, and the colours must be distinctly separated so the sign can be produced on a multi-material printer without post-processing paint work.
Here is what I already know:
• Final overall size should stay within 300 mm × 120 mm × 20 mm so it fits my build plate.
• I will be printing on a Prusa MMU2-equipped machine, so please keep filament swaps to four or fewer and supply separate colour bodies or modifier meshes in a single 3MF or well-labelled STL set.
• I prefer a clean face, free of support-scarred areas when printed upright; creative parting lines, built-in support blockers, or clever orientation tricks are welcome.
What I still need from you:
1. A production-ready 3MF (or zipped STLs) with the colour meshes already assigned.
2. A quick render or screenshot so I can visualise the palette before I slice.
3. Any special print settings you recommend—layer height, infill, or surface finish tweaks—to hit a professional look right off the printer.
If you model in Fusion 360, Blender, or SolidWorks that’s fine; just be sure the export remains manifold and watertight. I’m open to suggestions on filament choice (PLA, PETG, or ABS) and finish (matte, glossy, or textured), so flag any material-specific considerations I should watch for.
Once the model passes an informal mesh check (no non-manifold edges, intersecting faces, or reversed normals) I’ll approve the milestone. Looking forward to seeing your creative approach to making the Mk IV badge pop!
