I’m looking for a straightforward script that can crawl several e-commerce sites I will specify, detect only the product images on each page, download those files, and capture a small data set that pairs every image with its product name and SKU. Non-product graphics (banners, icons, placeholders, etc.) should be ignored.
Python is my preferred language, and I have no issue with you using Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or a headless browser—whatever lets the scraper cope smoothly with lazy-loaded galleries or JavaScript. Please build in respectful request throttling and keep the code well commented so I can adapt selectors or site lists later.
Deliverables:
• Executable script or notebook with clear setup instructions
• Zipped folder of all product images, named logically
• CSV or JSON mapping: product name | SKU | image filename | source page URL
I’ll supply the list of target domains (and any required cookies) as soon as we start. Let me know your estimated timeline and any clarifying questions you need answered before diving in.
