Multi-Company Project Management System

I need a web-based platform that can oversee projects coming from several related companies from a single dashboard. The core focus is employee assignment and tracking: each incoming project should let a manager review available staff and manually assign the right people to every task while the system records hours and shows live progress.

Beyond assignment, I still want the usual workflow tools—task creation, due dates, file attachments, comments—so our teams always have context. Every project also carries billing details. The system must generate invoices, record when they are sent, and allow us to mark payments as received or outstanding, then surface quick reports on what is still unpaid.

Because multiple companies and departments will use the tool, role-based access control is essential. Administrators manage companies and users, managers handle task assignment and billing, and employees see only their own work and timesheets.

Tech stack is open—Laravel, Django, Node, or even a solid low-code foundation—as long as the code is clean, well-documented, and easy to extend.

Acceptance criteria:
• Separate spaces for multiple companies, each with isolated data.
• Manual assignment interface that filters staff by skill or availability.
• Real-time dashboards for projects and individual workloads.
• Invoice generator with payment status tracking and summary reports.
• Robust role permissions: Admin, Manager, Employee.
• Responsive UI, source code in a private repo, and clear deployment steps.
