Scope of work
• Mechanical fabrication: source and machine the structural elements, mount bearings, choose and fit appropriate servo, stepper, or DC motors, and conceal wiring for a clean look.
• Control electronics & firmware: select suitable hardware (Arduino, ESP32, or similar), write well-documented code to handle timed sequences, speed ramps, and safety limits, then bench-test and iterate until the movement feels organic.
• System integration: deliver a plug-and-play power solution, an on-board toggle for maintenance, and the option to expand to remote or app control later.
• Handover: supply all CAD files, the complete parts list, commented source code, wiring diagrams, and a short video showing the piece running through its motion cycle.
Acceptance criteria
1. The sculpture operates continuously for eight hours without overheating or stalling.
2. Noise stays low enough to be ignored in a quiet gallery.
3. Code compiles without warnings on the chosen board and is version-controlled (Git).
4. All documentation is clear enough that a technician unfamiliar with the build can service or reproduce it.
The studio is located in Lower Manhattan.
