Moodle developer needed: WhatsApp integration, Google Slides/Drive for teachers and Social Media tab
Al Kithab Academy is an online Islamic educational academy. Our website and learning management system are built on Moodle and hosted on a Hostinger VPS. The main portal build (Student, Teacher, Headmistress and Admin portals) is being completed by another developer. We need a separate developer to add the following three features.
1. WhatsApp integration (WhatsApp Business API)
- Registration OTPs sent by WhatsApp
- Class reminders sent to teachers and students before each class
- Welcome messages for new students and teachers
- Purchase confirmations
- Every message sent in the portal's Messages tab is also delivered to the recipient's WhatsApp, with a note and link asking them to reply through the member portal
The Academy will provide the business documents and a new WhatsApp number for Meta verification.
2. Google Slides and Google Drive for teachers
- Slides for the next class are available to the assigned teacher only, never to students
- Slides are released to the teacher automatically
- Google Drive is managed from inside the portal
3. Social Media tab
- A centralised place in the portal to upload all the Academy's social media posts
- Platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn
Requirements
- Proven experience with Moodle plugin development and API integrations (WhatsApp Business API, Google Workspace APIs)
- Moodle-native features or established plugins where possible, with no changes to Moodle core
- All work done and tested on a staging copy first. Nothing goes on the live site without my approval.
- Must work alongside the existing developer without disrupting the ongoing work
- Clear handover notes explaining how each feature is set up and managed
In your proposal, please include:
- Your approach for each of the three features
- Your timeframe for each feature
- Examples of similar Moodle or WhatsApp integration work
- Any ongoing costs we should expect, such as WhatsApp message charges or plugin licences
Budget: $55 fixed price for all three features. Payment will be released by milestone as each feature is completed and tested:
- WhatsApp integration: $25
- Google Slides/Drive for teachers: $15
- Social Media tab: $15
