I run an ongoing, monthly-paid software engagement and need an experienced project manager to take charge of the contract side of the house. Your sole focus will be contract management—payment processing is handled by another team—so I’m looking for someone who can quickly review each new or renewed agreement, flag risks, and give a clear go/no-go approval before we sign.
What you’ll actually do for me
• Examine every draft contract or SOW we receive, line-by-line.
• Verify that the terms match our monthly payment model and previously agreed scope.
• Highlight inconsistencies, negotiate minor revisions with the vendor or client, and issue a concise approval summary.
• Maintain a clean record of versions and approvals in our CLM tool (we’re currently using DocuSign/Adobe Acrobat but are open to your preferred platform if it streamlines the workflow).
Acceptance criteria
1. Each contract is returned within 48 hours, marked “Approved” or “Changes Required,” with tracked edits.
2. An approval log is updated and shared in our project folder.
3. No unsigned contract proceeds to kickoff without your written confirmation.
If you’ve previously managed retainer-style or other monthly payment agreements and are comfortable owning the review-and-approve loop, I’d like to hear how you’d approach this and see a sample redline you’ve produced.
