Bayara is developing the next generation of its in-store retail kiosk format ("Bayara 2.0") for placement inside hypermarkets and malls across the UAE (existing units run in Carrefour Ibn Battuta Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and Mirdif City Centre). This is a shop-in-shop / open kiosk concept — not an enclosed store — merchandising a wide assortment of dry goods with strong brand visibility and a modern, elevated retail feel.
We are looking for two design directions from freelancers:
Direction A – Evolve: Refine and elevate our existing Bayara 2.0 concept (reference renders and material palette will be shared).
Direction B – Fresh Concept: Propose an original layout/aesthetic that still satisfies the brand and functional requirements below.
Freelancers may submit one or both directions.
Product Categories to Merchandise
Raw nuts & roasted nuts
Dry fruits
Spices (including a "fresh grinding" spice station)
Pulses
Organic range
Confectionery
Honey
Gifts/gift packs
Breakfast cereals
Bakery / "oven hot" items
Small beverage corner ("coffee on the go" — grab-and-go service, not a roastery)
(Note: this is not a coffee-roasting or loose-leaf tea concept — please disregard that framing if you've seen it elsewhere.)
Brand & Material Language
Warm timber slat cladding as the dominant material on the counter base/facade — this should visually lead.
Black expanded-metal mesh used for the overhead canopy/pergola structure, with recessed spotlighting integrated into it.
Brand red (Bayara red) used structurally on upper display units, shelving frames, and mesh panel accents — not just a small accent color, but a deliberate second material language alongside the wood.
Materials overall: High Pressure Laminate (HPL) + expanded metal, kept simple and minimalistic — avoid ornamentation.
Bayara logo should be a clear architectural focal point (e.g., mounted on a central timber-clad pillar/tower element).
Glass permitted only where it aids product visibility (bins, chillers).
Functional & Layout Requirements
Gravity or scoop bins for bulk dry goods (nuts, dry fruits, pulses) — displayed without visual clutter or category confusion.
A distinct "Fresh Grinding" spice station as a functional focal feature.
Category signage modules (e.g. "Breakfast," "Pulses," "Dry Fruits," "Organic," "Raw Nuts," "Deals") suspended from the canopy — must be sized and positioned to be readable from close proximity to the kiosk, not high overhead (this was a specific failure point in our current units).
Digital screens for rotating product imagery — placement and proportion should feel integrated, not bolted on.
Efficient cashier zone with discreet under-counter storage.
Small bakery/"oven hot" nook and a compact beverage corner.
Modular footprint that hypermarkets/malls can adopt quickly across different unit sizes (this is a self-service, high-footfall retail context).
Lighting Specification
High-CRI (90+) LED fixtures required throughout — standard/low-CRI LED is not acceptable; product color accuracy (nuts, dry fruits, spices) is a stated priority.
Recessed spotlighting integrated into the canopy structure.
Please note appropriate color temperature recommendations per product zone in your spec (e.g. warmer tones for baked goods/dry goods vs. cooler for any chilled items).
Problems the New Design Must Solve
Based on an internal audit of our current kiosks, the new design should explicitly address:
Weak, inconsistent brand presence at the kiosk
Product display mix that reads as cluttered/confusing
Kiosk front fascia lacking visual appeal from the aisle
No dynamic display system (static signage only, currently)
Overhead signage too high/too small to notice from kiosk proximity
Inefficient use of the kiosk footprint despite adequate size
Signage should face customer traffic flow, not just outward generically
Ergonomics
Counter height: ~90 cm
All storage/shelving reachable within 210 cm
No sharp edges on the aisle-facing side
Deliverables Requested
Two or more layout options (Direction A and/or B) with exact dimensions
High-quality 3D renders in both day and evening lighting
Front, side, and plan elevations suitable for fabrication quotes
A concise material/fixture specification (wood/HPL, expanded metal, red brand accents, high-CRI lighting call-outs)
Source files (SketchUp, Revit, or other editable format) plus print-ready PDFs
Reference Material
Existing Bayara 2.0 concept renders and photos of current live kiosks (Ibn Battuta Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre) will be shared with shortlisted freelancers as a starting reference for Direction A and as brand context for Direction B.
