I’m preparing case-study materials for my upcoming Udemy Brand Design Master Class and need a polished menu created for “Sushi Club,” a contemporary Japanese restaurant. The brief is tightly focused on menu design only—no logo or packaging work at this stage.
Style & tone
The look must be modern, minimalist and unmistakably Japanese without resorting to clichés. Think clean grids, generous whitespace, refined typography and a restrained colour palette that lets the food speak for itself.
Content requirements
• Full dish descriptions: concise yet evocative copy that I will supply.
• Clear sections for the main types of sushi (nigiri, maki, sashimi, specials, etc.).
• Basic nutritional information beneath each item in a consistent typographic style.
Technical details
– Final artwork for both A4 tri-fold print and a single-page digital version.
– Print-ready CMYK PDF plus editable source (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or Figma are all fine).
– Fonts either licensed for commercial use or sourced from Google Fonts.
– Resolution and bleed settings that meet standard offset printing specs.
Acceptance criteria
1. Layout matches the modern-minimal brief and uses a logical hierarchy.
2. All dishes and nutritional data appear exactly as provided.
3. Files open cleanly with no missing assets and are ready for immediate print/upload.
Please include a link to two or three previous menu or editorial layouts of a similar aesthetic so I can gauge fit quickly. If anything is unclear, let’s iron it out before you start—this piece will be showcased to hundreds of design students, so precision matters.
